We are a group of Christian authors, songwriters and poets who have been inspired by New York Times bestselling author Ted Dekker.
Elyon is one of many names for the God. It is used in Ted Dekker's Circle Trilogy (Black, Red and White), along with numerous of his other books that tie into the series.
Authors for Elyon was first founded in a small Facebook group called "Commandos of the Forest Guard" by Reuben Horst, Evan Morgan and Shari Hughes. The group was made only for those who were officially "commandos" in Ted Dekker's Share the Love campaign.
This group led to another, "Authors for Elyon", where anyone was welcome as long as they loved both Ted Dekker and God, and were writers. The main founders of this group were Patrick Brown, Taylor Thomas B., and Ashley Putney, though the members of Commandos were given their respective ranks back.
Since then we have grown and grown. We have over eighty members, though not are all active. Many are who we would consider "Dekkebrities", a fan-made term meaning somebody famous in the Dekker world.
